Job Title:                 Supply Chain Supervisor

Reports to:             Head of Manufacturing & Supply Chain

Location:                 Milton Park, Abingdon, Oxfordshire

As a Supply Chain Supervisor, you will mainly be responsible for, but not limited to, the duties described in this job description.

Job Purpose & Context

This role exists to manage the procurement and control of materials within the company via the Purchasing and Logistic Processes. The Supply Chain Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels to fulfil customer requirements and creating tracking systems for orders using the company’s ERP system (SAP). You will also be the conduit in answering vendor questions and providing them with additional order documentation as needed. The successful candidate for this position will have experience in the manufacturing industry and a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts. You will have a natural flair in the identification of cost and reduce and challenge where necessary.

 

Main Responsibilities

·  Assist the Head of Production and Supply Chain with day to day warehouse management and by maintaining proper inventory levels of materials and/ or spares required to support the business activities

·  To ensure that the process for ordering and re-ordering materials and or services is optimised within the current purchasing framework

·  Develop and operate an efficient and accurate system for monitoring and expediting all open purchase orders

·  To work with current & future vendors to examine opportunities to reduce overall cost

·  Assist the Head of Manufacturing & Supply Chain to conduct quarterly reviews on key Tier 1 and Tier 2 Suppliers

·  Oversee the Logistics team to ensure that all deliveries/shipments satisfy the assigned purchase orders and shipping requests

·  Use data analysis to drive continuous improvement and reduce costs to the business

·  Oversee the reporting of the Monthly KPi’s utilising the Operations Assistant

·   Managing NCRs related to Supply Chain and Logistics

 

Additional Responsibilities

·   Oversee the generation of necessary management reports from SAP to monitor and drive improvement

·   Conduct vendor assessments with Head or Production and Supply Chain

·   Participate in regular team briefing and reviews, working as part of close-knit team

·   Assist Engineering team with BoM Management within SAP

·   Compliance with 5S requirements 

·    Management of suppliers through KPI’s, whilst delivering business efficiency and reducing costs

Academic Qualifications or Key Knowledge

Essential

Educated to at least grade (A-C) GCSE

Strong negotiating skills

Competent in the use of MS Office packages

Lean Manufacturing (including 5s)

Desirable

HNC / HND in Manufacturing or Accounting or a related field

Hold or be willing to work towards full CIPS Membership
